Built at the turn of the century in an Art Nouveau style this spacious four bedroom, fifth floor (without a lift) apartment in the L´Eixample area is just a 15 minute walk from the heart of the Plaza Catalunya and Ramblas district. In May 2003, the accommodation has undergone restoration, retaining its traditional character whilst offering modern facilities. Two of the double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and there is an additional bathroom with full sized bath and shower, the kitchen has also been restored to the highest standard. The high ceilings retain their traditional mouldings, most prominently in the dining area with its ornate plasterwork and antique chandelier. The restored decorative encaustic tiles of the floors are set off by the plain colours of the walls, while the tall, elegant doors and louvered shutters complete the turn of the century ambience. Tall fitted wardrobes provide ample storage space. One of the nicest features of the apartment are the three balconies which look out onto the streets below, giving a sense of openness not always found in older apartment buildings in Barcelona. The immediate area is alive with shops and restaurants, an area dominated by the hub of the Mercat Sant Antoni, one of Barcelonas best markets. This location offers all the advantages of local living, the real Catalunya, while being centrally located to the main architectural sites, museums, beaches, shopping and night life all the things Barcelona is famous for. There are three Metro stations close by, the nearest being Poble Sec which is three minutes walk away. The other two are Sant Antoni and Rocafort.

The construction of the L´Eixample district started at the beginning of the 20th Century, by the time they finished the Clinic Hospital in 1904 the surrounding areas were still farmland. Today the Ninot Market caracterizes the central part of this neighbourhood. The left hand side of the Eixample district is the modernistic part of Barcelona. All the streets cross in the rectangular style, which is quite unusual for European town planning. The buildings, nearly all of which have been reformed, are from the 20th Century and you will notice the variety in the decorated façades of the buildings as you walk through the area. You will find something to suit every taste in this area, design and fashion shops, relaxing parks and a range of bars and cafes to have your morning coffee in. There are also a good number of restaurants, bars and discos for those looking for some nightlife. The majority of these are around the streets, Londres, Paris and Muntaner. It can be difficult to resist the temptation to stop and try out some the local pastries & coffees, drinks & tapas or have dinner in some of the most fashionable restaurants in Barcelona. Towards the bottom of L´Eixample it meets with Plaza Catalunya and the beginning of the Gothic Quarter. The Eixample is one of the prettiest and safest districts of Barcelona. Places of interest not to miss: Plaza Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia and Plaza España that has a fountain display with lights and music in the evening time. |

In order to ensure a successful reservation, a prepayment is required at the time of reservation. The prepayment is a percentage of the total amount due. The outstanding amount is paid in cash upon the delivery of the keys on the first day of your stay. Further more, it is commonplace that a deposit is required in cash, which should also be paid upon the delivery of the keys on the first day.
