This is a 40m2 studio apartment very near Las Ramblas. The apartment is located on Calle Carme and there are plenty of shops, bakeries and the famous food market La Boqueria is just a few minutes away. On entering the apartment you come into a small narrow kitchen, there is a microwave, oven, two hobs, fridge, pots, pans, cutlery etc. The kitchen brings you directly into the main room, here you have a sofa plus some armchairs at the bottom and up the wooden stair is the bedroom. From the floor to the ceiling in the living room it measures 4m15cm but as the bedroom is upstairs from the floor of the bedroom to the ceiling, the height is 204cm (see main photo). The bedroom has two single beds and the bare walls give a nice rustic feel to the studio. Downstairs off the living room is the bathroom with a bath tub and the washing machine also. The landlady has left portable radiators and fans in the studio for summer and winter months. The studio is ideal for two people, it looks onto a small patio which allows in a lot of light and nearly all the major sight in Barcelona such as Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia etc are all within a short walking distance.

With a mixture of people from around the world, native Catalans and tourists this part of the city seems like it never sleeps. Its just off La Rambla, Barcelonas´ most famous street, which is lined with performing street artists, painters, buskers and there´s always a lot of activity going on around the different kiosks that sell everything from international newspapers to domestic animals. Within this district you will find some of Barcelona´s nicest old buildings such as the National Library of Catalunya and Palau Güell mixed with more modern architecture such as the Contemporary Art Museum – MACBA. There is also a wide range of cuisine, on every corner you will find a bar, restaurant, of cafe with terraces where you can sit and have dinner or merely just enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. It is also just a few meters from Plaza Catalunya the starting point in any visit to Barcelona. Most tourists like this district as it gives the feeling of being in the heart of the city and in general if you are looking for an economical holiday you will find the some of cheaper apartments for rent this area. |
