Description
This property is a typical period flat within a 146 year old block situated on the well known Joaquin Costa street, a very central location of the Upper Raval zone. Everything you could want is literally on the door step, trendy cocktail bars & cafés, typical and modern restaurants, supermarkets open late into the night, designer shops, bakers etc. Most popular tourist sights are within easy walking distance and there is a huge choice of buses and metros a couple of minutes away. The famous MACBA museum is directly behind the block and it´s a pleasant 5 minute stroll to the Ramblas.
The flat is on 5th floor with no lift, but it is well worth the walk upstairs and once inside there is a lot of natural light. The owners have decorated their property in a contemporary style but have kept the period features such as beams and mosaic tiled floors. There is a large modern living area with open plan fully equipped kitchen and two bedrooms, one has two single beds with French windows onto a small balcony overlooking the main street, the other sleeping room has a comfortable double sofa bed (this room can be also be used as second living room when only two people are renting). There is a small shower room (no bath) and the flat has air conditioning and hot air heating for colder days.
The flat is well furnished and very cosy and has an en extensive CD music library and DVD collection, 42 inch plasma television perfect for relaxing after a busy day sight seeing! An extra bonus for English speakers is satellite “free to view” UK television.

Notes:For cheking-in later then 23:00 hours and check-out earlier than 6:30 the owner asks for an extra fee of 30€.

Location
With a mixture of people from around the world, native Catalans and tourists this part of the city seems like it never sleeps. Its just off La Rambla, Barcelonas´ most famous street, which is lined with performing street artists, painters, buskers and there´s always a lot of activity going on around the different kiosks that sell everything from international newspapers to domestic animals. Within this district you will find some of Barcelona´s nicest old buildings such as the National Library of Catalunya and Palau Güell mixed with more modern architecture such as the Contemporary Art Museum – MACBA. There is also a wide range of cuisine, on every corner you will find a bar, restaurant, of cafe with terraces where you can sit and have dinner or merely just enjoy a drink and watch the world go by.
On the other hand, the Raval district is not the safest area of Barcelona. Its not recommended that tourists stroll around the little side streets especially at night.
On saying that most tourists like the area of Raval as they feel they are in the heart of the city and in general if you are looking for an economical holiday you will find some of the cheaper apartments for rent this area.
