| This is our warm and lovely apartment which has been completely renewed and tastefully furnished. It is comfortable with a pleasant decoration. This is your "home away from home" and has everything you need. All you need are your personal items. All else included. Our rates include utilities, all consumable supplies (including hot water), air conditioning and satellite TV. The apartment is located in the first floor of the building, which has the typical and exquisite architecture of Barcelona city and modern equipment such as a new elevator. The apartment has 30 square meters and capacity for 2 people (or 2 people with a child). The apartment has 1 comfortable room with a double bed. Includes large wardrobes, kitchen and bathroom both fully equipped and recently. It is centrally located in downtown Barcelona, right next to the well known Plaza España, La Fira of Barcelona, Magic Fountains of Montjuïc. It is a short walking distance away from the famous Las Ramblas and the sea front. Within the Sants-Montjuïc Quarter of Barcelona, it is a safe area with several parks and shops, 24/7 supermarkets, pharmacy, internet cafes, restaurants, sports facilities, private parking, and public transportation - Plaza España is a hub for metro and bus transit (Plaza Catalunya, the Central Square of Barcelona, is five minutes away by tube), in addition to the taxi station across the street. This district of Barcelona with the generic name, Poble Sec was the first ´Ensanche´ or ´extentsion´ to Barcelona´s city center. The name was given in 1854 when the first walls of Barcelona were knocked down to start the construction of terrace houses for labourers. The area had all the advantages needed to prosper, with only one setback: the steep slopes surrounding it.
The district Poble Sec lies on the border of Montjüic hill, the backdrop of the World Exposition which took place in Barcelona in 1929 and the Olympic Games in 1992. The most famous street in this district is, Avinguda Paral.lel, which was once the prime centre of Barcelona nightlife - often called the ´Montmartre´ of Barcelona. During the first half of the 20th century, this was Barcelona's area of theatres, nightclubs and music halls. Today Poble Sec continues to enjoy a friendly atmosphere with quiet streets and parks and you can still find some traditional bars, some more modernized and various good restaurants. You will also notice some modernist buildings along Avinguida Paral.lel that stand out. Poble Sec is also the area with the easiest access to Montjüic where you can enjoy spectacular views of Barcelona. The Oylmpic Games Barcelona hosted in 1992 were also held on the Montjüic mountain and the stadium is definitely a worthwhile visit.
Poble Sec is a good starting point to see Barcelona, with easy access to the city center and good communication by bus and underground which will let you feel like you have Barcelona at your feet. |
