Castelldefels, a huge beach and a costal town only 20 minutes from Barcelona and 10 minutes from the international airport. The beach of Castelldelfells, with its 5 kilometre stretch of sand, is known to be one of the best beaches of Cataluña. The two sports clubs at the beach of Castelldefels offer facilities for whatever watersport you can think of: among them are included windsurfing, surfing, sailing, jetski, water-skiing and kite-surfing. If fishing is your thing, you have the opportunity of practicing your sport while bathing in the Spanish sun alongside the many like-minded people that find their way here. But, if what you come in search of is a vibrant nightlife, then this is just what you will find in Castelldefels. Nightclubs stay open until sunrise, and there is a wide variety of bars with music to suit all tastes. For a good night out, we recommend you tour the Port of Ginesta or the “avenida de los baños” (Paseo Marítimo). Naturelovers will also find themselves in a paradise-on-earth when they make their way to the “Parque Natural del Garraf”, which is a protected reserve where they will discover many treasures such as rare orchids, turtles and eels... Of course, you will have to keep your eyes wide open or you will miss them! To make a full day out of it, another treasure well worth a visit is the Budhist monastery in the nearby village of Plana Novela. Those looking for a real Spanish “fiesta” in Castelldefels will not be disappointed with organised events like the Festival de Danza, the Fiestas del Mar in July and the two Fiestas Mayores in August and December, not to forget the annual feast in September where one can sample the delights and specialties of the more than 100 quality restaurants of Castelldefels as they compete for the much sought after Golden Fork prize. In regard to travel from Castelldefels to Barcelona, it is possible to go by car (Street route C-245, Motorway route C-31 or Highway route C-32), by bus (95 or 97 by day and N14 by night), or by train from the two stations in the town. Further more, it is commonplace that a deposit is required in cash, which should also be paid upon the delivery of the keys on the first day. The deposit will be reimbursed upon returning the keys on the last day of your stay.
