| San Antonio is one of the most popular holiday-destinations of the Balearic Islands. The city is located about 20 minutes from the airport and Ibiza-town and offers great entertainment facilities for both the young and the young at heart.During the entire summer-saison, but especially in the hot months of high season young party-people are vistitng the city in order to enjoy not only the sun and the beach but also the nightlife. So if you are looking for tranquility you better come to San Antonio in low season. In spring 2002 the beautiful wide sandy beach was completely renewed. Nevertheless it can become very crowded during high season. But also the nearby bays of the west-coast invite to relax.Today, thanks to the 'Cafe del Mar' and the famous CDs San Antonio's sunsets are known all over the world. Every evening in summer people meet in the Cafe del Mar and other sunsetbars in order to listen to the typical music and enjoy the impressive sunsets. Afterwards live-DJs perform during the whole night. At the heart of the village stands a fine 14th century church. The real city-centre is the so-called 'Plaza'. It is the best vantage point for the fabulous Fireworks Display which celebrates the fiesta of Saint Bartholomew on the 24th August. But you will also find numerous cafés and bars with parasols adding a festive touch to the holiday scene. And the small narrow streets of the oldtown have a concentration of different boutiques, shops and snack-bars. |
