Pollença is situated about 56 Km from Palma de Majorca, in the north of Majorca. The city of Pollenca itself is placed in the interior and is the second biggest city within the municipality. Originally Pollença was a fishermen's village, now turned into one of the principal tourist destinations, and an ideal place for people travelling with kids. Pollensa is a perfect spot to practice all kinds of nautical sports.
The mountains which surround Pollensa offer of a magnificent view over the Mediterranean Sea and the charming port of the village. The landscape is rich in contrasts, led by Tramontana's Saw, Formentor's peninsula and Pollensa's majestic Bay.
We suggest to visit: Pollença's museum, the Gothic Tower of the gardens Joan March surrounded with autochthonous plants of Majorca, the Roman Bridge, historical artistic monument.
In Pollença there are different beaches,the most famous are: Albercutx, closest to the port,
Formentor, accessible beach from the road or by means of ship, going out of Pollença's port,Cala Murta and Cala Figuera, two small and isolated beaches, placed in Formentor's Peninsula, Cala Boquer,a beach placed at the end of a famous and beautiful walk across Boquer's valley, Cala San Vicente, calm famous place for its four attractive beaches, Cala Estremer and Cala Castell, only accessible by ship or walking. |
