Welcome to our Barcelona city guide

Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city that has a special and unique charm. The city is prosperous, dynamic and enchanting; but most of all full of contrasts and surprises. Those who love the arts may enjoy Picasso, Miró and the marvellous buildings created by Gaudí.
The "Plaza De Cataluña" marks the centre of the city. Between this square and the sea is the old part of the city, which consists of 4 neighbourhoods, or ‘Barrios’; Barrio Gótico, Raval Born and Barceloneta. Many of the museums, monuments and other historical sights are situated in these two areas. The famous "Las Ramblas", a street 2 km long that starts at the "Plaza de Cataluña" and runs all the way down to the sea, is the best place to experience the spirit of Barcelona. The most colourful spectacles take place here: pedestrians of all ages and classes, numerous stands selling flowers and an abundant number of street performers, cafés, terraces, and theatres to complete the atmosphere. Walking down this dazzling street is truly a unique experience. As you know the Mediterranean Sea is also conveniently close by, inviting you to take a refreshing dip. Around Barcelona you have the opportunity to relax on one of the delightful beaches of the "Costa Brava" and "Costa Dorada. Visit the many peaceful villages in the mountains or Sierras, with their beautiful scenery. Just a little further away are the Pyrenees, where you can ski or do other winter sports.
The nightlife of Barcelona is very energetic and exhilarating. The numerous pubs, bars and discotheques together with the natural friendliness and open-mindedness of the Barcelonans and the large international community give you the opportunity to enjoy every minute of your stay. Because of this and many other reasons, coming to Barcelona to study, to work or on holiday is a real pleasure. Explore Barcelona and feel its exciting atmosphere. Below we give you a list of the best places to spend your evenings and nights. Special restaurants or cool bars and clubs here you have the best spots to go to.
