Barcelona nightlife

At any time of day the Cuitat Vella contains a mixture of native Barcelonans and tourists from around the world. The most famous street in this district is, of course, Las Ramblas, with its many street musicians and performers. On this boulevard there is always a lot of activity around the many newspaper-kiosks, flower and pet shops. Young people, and tourists generally visit this district, but of course there are also many nice little bars, for the `older´ tourist.
In the Eixample, the modernist part of the city, there are three distinctly different ambiences in the different bars and discotheques, but never mixed. In this district you will find locals that are lovers of design, traditionalists, and, of course, the young and informal ones. Plaça Catalunya is the place to go for charming terraces, visited especially by young people and tourists.
In Gracià, places such as Plaça del Sol and Plaça Rius i Taulet are often visited by the locals who want to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. This atmosphere is experienced all over this pleasant quarter, and mostly found on its many squares or Plaça’s. Everybody can find what they are looking for in this district; no matter whether you want a fashionable local for the latest design, or a charming summer-terrace.
Where the streets of Santaló and Mariano Cubi cross each other, you will find the highest concentration of fashionable places in all of Barcelona. The people visiting this district are young and beautiful, and within the many bars and discotheques you will find good music, good drinks, and lots of fun. At plaça Francesc Maciá you will meet the cream of the crop of Barcelona´s nightlife.
Situated at the foot of Mount Montjuïc, site of the 1992 Olympic Games, the Poble Espanyol is a watercolour painting which portrays the different peoples and cultures of Spain, represented in the form of streets, squares, monuments and buildings. The typical crowd for this district is a mixture of tourists and locals, and mostly reasonably youthful.
