Reading “ La sombra del viento” – I loved it and i finished it in two/three days. It is well written, a good mix of mystery and love. Although it is based in a Barcelona post Civil War the names of the streets and of the squares are still the same today and I like the fact that I can say that I have been in such and such square last week or that I had the same impression when I went to such and such street. – Tu My

Walking along the beach promenade – My friends from France visited me this weekend and on Saturday evening we walked all the way from the Forum to Barceloneta. You can always stop for a bite to eat, a cold beer and take time to catch up with your friends. – Pierre Antoine

Cinema at the beach – I saw the last session of the event “Cinema a la platja”. Each Thursday there have screened a film at the beach of San Sebastian. The screen was gigantic and the atmosphere was very chilled out. It was a bit of a shame that it was the last session and I haven’t heard about it before but hey… – Guido

Sushi and Short movies in Poble Espanyol – Last month of Mecal Air in Poble Espanyol. The whole summer the team of Mecal (http://www.mecalbcn.org/) was presenting their best short movies in an open air session in the Poble Espanyol. For each beer you order you get a Tapa of Sushi for free. Also very delicious is the cheese plate for just 4 Euros. The movies are always very well chosen and under the trees and stars, it is always a special thing to do. If you print out the Flyer (http://www.mecalbcn.org/mecalair.gif)), you pay just 2 Euros for the entrance into Pople Espanyol. – Karina

Free climbing at Montjuic
– I discovered the free climbing spot at Montjuic. The spot is a bit hidden and not so easy to find, when you scroll a bit down here you will find a little map.. I haven’t tried it yet but will do soon as it looks like fun! – Giogio

Going to Valencia for La Tomatina – Last week I decided to make the most of my time in Spain and go to the famous tomato throwing festival, or better known as La Tomatina. This was an amazing event and something I would definitely to do again. Also Valencia is gorgeous and I loved the city. – Anil

Visiting the Ice Bar Barcelona
– Last Saturday I went to the Ice Bar Barcelona. €15 entrance includes the price of a cocktail. It really funny because you get a big silver jacket and everybody is dancing on the bar because you have to move to keep you warm. I have never been so frozen in my life but it was worth it! – Kelsey

Finding a good place for breakfast in Barcelona – Have finally found a place to have a good full breakfast with eggs and the works.  Go to RA behind the La Boqueria.  Head for the weird beach umbrellas and you can’t miss it. – Paul

Visiting the Expo in the Palau de Virreina – On Sunday we went to the Palau de Virreina (c/ Rambla 99) where they have a couple of good exhibitions on: “Expo: The Self and the Other – Portraiture in Contemporary Indian Photography” & Valerie Merjen’s “La Placa de la Concorde” – David

Doing the GoCar Tour – I did a tour in one of those small yellow vehicles you can see everywhere in Barcelona to show the city to a friend. It is great fun to cruise through the city and be centre of the tourists’ attention. The voice guide helps you to find the right way and tells you stories about the city and its sights. – Birte
