Barcelona Outdoor Cinema in Montjuïc– A Great Escape From Reality

Have you ever come to Barcelona with the intent to relax a little or even just spare one night from the crazy nightlife or non-stop electricity of Las Ramblas? Well now you can with the outdoor cinema screenings in Montjuïc. Throughout the summer, the Sala Montjuïc organizes screenings with a giant-screen, films in 35 mm and in their original versions and languages (but with subtitiles in Castellano) at a very affordable price of 5 €. Furthermore, you can bring your own food and drinks to the film and lie down on the grass or hire a deckchair for only 3 € extra.

The Sala Montjuïc is a not-for-profit project which is sustained by sponsors, spectators, public administration and particularly Regidoria de Joventut and Institut de Cultura de Barcelona. Due to continued support, Sala Montjuïc is now open 3 days a week instead of two with the extra screening now on Monday evenings.

N.B. You can purchase tickets from the castle from 20:30 on the day of the screening. There are only 2000 tickets available on site.
Tickets can also be bought in advance at Servicaixa (www.servicaixa.com). However, there are only 500 tickets available that can be purchased in advance.

How to Get There
Sala Montjuïc is situated next to the side walls of the Montjuïc castle in the archery range.

By Car: There is a car park 10 minutes from the castle.

Public Transport: There is a special bus service that will be provided to take you to Sala Montjuïc. The bus departs from Plaza España Towers between 20:30 to 21:30 and will returns at the end of the film.

So for a nice way to cool down those summer nights in Barcelona, you can escape to Sala Montjuïc to watch a high quality film with friends, a great atmosphere all at an excellent price.
