Salsa Verde Cooking Course of Traditional Spanish Food

If you fancy discovering Catalan culinary specialities, preparing traditional dishes that you can then reproduce at home, the Salsa Verde cooking rooms offer you the opportunity. This experience will allow you to spend the afternoon cooking in a friendly atmosphere: tapas, market produce, Catalan specialities, and even the preparation of sushi! You get to choose the theme and Rafael will teach you how to produce the dishes, each and every one more delicious than the last.

Salsa Verde is a kitchen space which Rafael, a professional chef, created in order to allow you to share his passion for cooking, all while enabling you to spend a pleasant afternoon over a good meal, which you will have prepared yourself.

Salsa Verde’s Cooking Course:

Rafael welcomes you cheerfully and goes about distributing the tasks to be carried out, divided between the participants, who are all settled around the same table, in order to create a friendly atmosphere. One cuts tomatoes; the other prepares the sauce; another one the dessert… Everybody learns to make a dish, whilst being able to observe what the others are doing. You also have the possibility of doing a course on tapas, the Spanish speciality par excellence! Once all of the ingredients are chopped and the dishes are prepared, then its time for cooking!

Rafael invites you then to sit down, and you can sample the dishes that you made yourself, in a convivial atmosphere, around a glass of wine which perfectly accompanies the meal. During my experience, to start with we tasted a delicious Andalusian gazpacho, followed by risotto with asparagus, then prawn and salmon fritters, and finally a smooth Crema Catalana, a real delight!

It was a true pleasure to be able to savour at leisure the dishes which we had even prepared for ourselves. Furthermore, the atmosphere is really nice and Rafael is there to answer all of your questions about the cooking and help you to have a good time. You can take your time, discuss, laugh, and, of course, eat! It is a real moment of relaxation and pleasure. At the end of the meal, having drunken a lovely little espresso, Rafael gave us the recipes for the dishes which we had just made, in order to be able to reproduce them at home.

Once the course had ended, at about 4 pm, the sun continued to shine, so we took advantage of it and went to a little outcrop by the clear waters of Sitges’ beach, afterwards strolling in the lively streets of the village before heading back to Barcelona.

It was a very lovely afternoon, sharing amongst the group the experience of cooking and discovering Catalan culinary specialities.

This ideal afternoon is located just 30 minutes outside of Barcelona, and we were able to take part in it thanks to Salsa Verde.
