Ferran Adriá, The Best Chef in the World

Barcelona is a great place to eat and drink! Along with visiting some of the most famous landmarks in the world, a trip to one of the amazing restaurants that Barcelona has to offer is a must!

Ferran Adrià is a Michelin starred chef who was born in a suburb of Barcelona in 1962 in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

He has dedicated his life to finding out about Catalan cuisine, which is the reason why he is loved not only in Barcelona but the world. Ferran Adrià, is a chef, artist and cooking perfectionist, as well as the founder and promoter of a new concept of cuisine, defined “molecular”. It is so named because it is arranged around scientific study principals of the subject and based on respecting food’s molecular structure and its possible transformation into something different and more special. He discovered new ways of cooking through the use of liquid nitrogen and frying in sugar, just to name a few.

He inspired world class chef Heston Blumenthal who uses molecular gastronomy to cook.
El Bulli- Best Restaurant in Barcelona!

The restaurant situated on the coast of Costa Brava and is about 150km from Barcelona. The restaurant is so popular  that around 2 million people a year try to make a reservation for only 8,000 places. Making it one of the most popular restaurants in the world. However in 2011 it was announced that the restaurant will close for 2 years to undergo renovation work and have a complete redesign. El Bulli is located around 2 hours by road from Barcelona, in Cala Monjoi which is a small village.
Pizza made by the best chef in the world?

There have been rumours that the Catalan cook and his brother Albert have decided that they want to master the art of cooking several Italian dishes, one of course being pizza. As such, they have been looking for the best pizzerias in Italy. “Can’t you eat a decent pizza in Barcelona? We’re going to find out”.

El Bulli is located around 150km from Barcelona around 2 hours by car. In a stunning place!
