Sonar is not just about electronic music, but an explosion of the senses. Sonar brings together innovators in unique art, film and audiovisual DJ sets.
What music can you expect?
Sonar is an electronic music festival featuring: Techno, House, Electro, hip hop.
Previous acts have included the likes of Bjork, Kraftwerk and Four Tet.
Last year, more than 84,000 people attended this unique and remarkable festival!

Sonar by Day
The Raval area is where all of the daytime Sonar events will take place. The MACBA and the CCCB are hosting everything and they lie right next to each other. They are large, imposing buildings and are almost impossible to miss. The main entrance during the festival day is on Calle Montalegre 5.

Sonar by Night

Sonar by Night will begin at, Fira Gran Via, outside Barcelona, which is a large exhibition center.
Most people that attend the Sonar by Day festivities will come to the night events so the real party can finally begin! The atmosphere here is great and you are able to see some top DJs and performances.

Getting to Sonar by night:
Train
It takes only 5 minutes by train to Fira Gran Via from Barcelona city centre. You can depart from any FGC station. The largest is located inside the Espanya metro station. To get to this station, you can take the green line from ‘Drassanes’. When you arrive, follow the directions for Sonar by Night. To return to the city, the trains will run again from 5.10am. The train is probably the best way to and from the festival.

Tip: The T-10 ticket, available from any metro stop, saves you money when using public transport (metro, bus or tram) When you are going to and from the festival, it is worth buying a T-10 ticket. This ticket will allow you to make ten journeys which is a lot cheaper then if you buy individual tickets. The ticket can also be shared with your friends!

Shuttle Bus
There is a continuous bus service which you take from Drassanes directly to Fira Gran Via (M2) Hospitalet. It will take about 20 minutes from the Centre. They run from 20.30-08.00 Monday to Friday.
Taxi
Be prepared to pay anywhere up to 60 Euros for a taxi, it will take about 20 minutes to reach the Sonar by night festival from the Raval area.
Tips for UK Visitors
If you’re travelling from the UK, the closest airport is of course El Prat-Barcelona, cheaper flights may be available, however they may take you to Girona or Reus airport instead. Girona is the closest airport. The cheapest and best way to get to Barcelona is to take the Bus.
