The Shadow of the Wind Tour

The Shadow of the Wind is set in the 1950’s, not long after the Spanish Civil War, when a boy is taken to a secret cemetery of forgotten books, where he finds a cursed book that will change his life.

You can pretend to be your favourite character in the book as you follow their footsteps, at the same time as exploring the charm and mystery of early 20^th century Barcelona.

• La Rambla, 9 – The start of the book
• Arc del Teatre – Home to the secret cemetery of books
• Plaza Reial – Home to some of the main characters
• Hat shop – An atmospheric shop reminiscent of that in the book
• Pen shop – Near Plaza del Rei, a shop that maintains the atmosphere of the early 20^th century
• Santa Maria del Mar – Where the characters go to pray in the book
• Santa Lucia / Montcada Street – Home of the hospice run by nuns where some characters stayed
• Sant Felip Neri Square – Host to one of the focal points of the novel
• Els Quatre Gats – Where the main characters’ parents met for the first time
• Santa Anna Church – Home to the main character in the book, and the stage for the wedding
• Ateneu Barcelones – Where Daniel (the main character) and his first love met
