Bus
By AeroBus
Aerobus Transport to Airport This is an airport bus service that leaves from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (A, B and C) and travels directly to the centre of Barcelona. There are four main stops in the centre: Plaça Espanya, Urgell, Plaça Universitat and Plaça Catalunya. When you leave the airport, head straight to the bus stop and you’ll see a light-blue bus, with Aerobús on the side. When you’re travelling to the airport from Plaça Catalunya, make sure that you take the right bus. A1 will take you to Terminal 1 and A2 goes to Terminal 2. The number of each bus is written on the front, and the journey lasts around 25-30 minutes.
image If you do make a mistake and take the wrong bus, don’t panic – there are connections between both terminals. Find out how to connect between terminals at Barcelona airport.

This is definitely the cheapest solution – a standard ticket using TMB can be purchased for just €1,45. It is, however, the slowest form of transport and public buses don’t have luggage holders. Buses generally leave from Terminal 2 but also from Terminal 1 before heading in the direction of the city centre.

I have booked a weekend break in January staying at the BW Hotel Dante in Barcelona. I have looked at the various options for getting to the hotel from the airport and believe the train and metro is the best way. Can you confirm the details and approx costs and travel time

    • Oh-Barcelona says:

Firstly I hope you are looking forward to your stay in Barcelona!

Yes you can easily get to your hotel by first catching the train from the airport to Sants Estacio, and then changing over to catch the metro (L5) to Hospitalet Clinic. From the metro station it should only be a short walk to your hotel. This would be the cheapest way as you would only need to buy a public transport ticket which is €1.45 for one journey or €8.40 for 10 journeys.
The train runs around every half hour and metro every few minutes.

However you may find it more convenient to catch the airport shuttle bus (T1 or T2) from the airport to the Plaça Catalunya and from there catch a taxi directly to the front door of your hotel! The cost of the bus is €5.10 for one way and €9.15 return. As for the taxi my guess is it would cost anything between €12 -20.
The buses are frequent, on average they run every 10 minutes.

      Hope this helps :)

      Cheers,
      Francesca

    Hi,

How can I get from the airport to the center of Barcelona? Are there other ways than this bus because I expect this bus is more expensive than a “normal” bus?
Which bus lines are most appropiate to get to Catalunya?

    Harry

    • Oh-Barcelona says:

      Hey Harry,

Yes you’re right there is also a public service bus (no. 46) which runs from Plaza Espanya to the airport. There are more stops so the journey can take longer – up to 45 or 50 minutes. With this service you can use a T10 pass which costs just over 8euro for 10 journeys. (Or you could simply buy a single ticket for around € 1.20.) From Plaza Espanya it’s just a quick journey on the metro to Plaza Catalunya.
There is also a night bus and this goes all the way to Catalunya, however it only runs from 11pm to 5am in the morning. A one way ticket for this service costs € 1.40
Finally another quick, and possibly the most convenient option is to take the train to the city centre. Have look at the ‘train’ tab of this article.

Hope this helps and I wish you a safe and pleasant journey to Barcelona!
Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have :)

      Best,
      Francesca

hi, i will arive at the airport el prat saturday 7 pm. i’m wondering if its possible to get to the estadio nou camp by public transportation or taxi within less then a hour. thank you for helping me!

    • Oh-Barcelona says:

      Hi Dan!

That’s definitely possible. You could take either option, but if you want to make sure you get there on time, your best bet would be to take a taxi directly there. Obviously this is the more expensive option, but it’s also the easiest. For rates, click on the link in this article.

      Best,

  4. KAY says:

HI, We will come coming by bus (Eurolines) from Toulouse, France to Barcelone Norte end of Oct. The bus also stop at Barcelone Sants. As we will be staying at the hotel by the airport (Barcelona, Spain 08820), I think the Barcelone Norte stop is the right one but do correct me if I am wrong. For this route, what is the best way to travel from Barcelone Norte bus stop to the Barelona Airport to my hotel?

Thanks in advance for your advise
    Kay
