Barcelona Airport – connecting between terminals

Once you have arrived at El Prat Airport, you may have to connect between the airport’s two terminals. This article will give you all of the information regarding connections between terminals.
Furthermore, we can help provide you with information regarding how to transfer between the airport and the centre of Barcelona.

Connection between the terminals

T1-T2 Shuttle: Every 6 or 7 minutes a bus links T2 (the bus stop is located by the intermodal building) with arrivals (ground floor) and departures (3rd floor) in T1. The journey takes 10 minutes.

T1- Renfe Train Station T2 Shuttle: Coinciding with the arrival of trains (every 30 minutes), a bus links the Renfe train station in T2 with departures (3rd floor) in T1. The journey takes 10 minutes.

T1 and T2- Long-stay parking Shuttle: links the long-stay parking with terminals T1 (the stop is located both in arrivals and departures) and T2 (with the stop outside the intermodal building) from 7 a.m. to midnight, and a frequency of every 12 minutes for T1 and every 10 minutes for T2. During the night, an on-request service is available. You will need to request this service from the airline you are flying with, which is responsible for informing the airport.

Airside Shuttle:

This is only for passengers who are getting a connecting flight and need to travel from one terminal to the other. There are two routes: one for connections for flights to and from countries in the Schengen Area, and the other for connections for flights to and from countries outside the Schengen Area. Stops for the former are located at the disembarkation points in T1 and T2, operating from 5.30 a.m. to midnight. The latter, with stops at the Non-Community disembarkation points in T1 and T2, is available on request. In both cases, you will need to request this directly from the airline with which you are flying.

Once in the airport, how do you get to the centre of Barcelona? You have various options for your particular wishes and needs. Therefore, don’t miss our article on the means of transport from El Prat Airport to Barcelona city centre.
