Parc Güell - the home of dragons and daydreams

Businessman Eusebi Güell had an idea to make money. His plan? To team up with Antoni Gaudí to create an area of beautiful gardens. The setting would be so impressive that the well-off in Barcelona would clamour to buy parcels of the land and construct their family homes there.

The venture failed due to the ‘remoteness’ of the area, leaving the way clear for the creation of the public park we know as Parc Güell, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Anyone who has visited the park is bound to agree what a blessing that original failure was.
