The contact person did not react to my emails, phone calls, phone messages and SMS.
She also failed to show up when we arrived. The neighbours told us where the key was: under the door mat!
A few days later a young girl rang at the door and said that she came to collect the 'alquiler'. She had no identification, no bill no receipt and only spoke Spanish. We refused to hand over the money under these circumstances until we finally got an SMS from our phantom contact person.
The apartment was all right on the whole but it showed signs of neglect, particularly the bedroom part had a run-down appearance: The shutters could not be fixed, there were packets of bricks and tiles on the balcony, as if the workers had forgotten to clean up.
